Dele for Young Learners
The DELE for Young Learners has been designed for teenagers who want to get their Spanish level certified. It has 2 levels A1 and A2/B1. Students should learn Spanish for around 1.5 years before taking the DELE escolar A1 exam.
Also it is very important to note that although there is a big interest for young kids to take some Spanish exam to certify their level, currently no official public exam has been developed for kids to certify their level. The DELE for Young Learners is intended for students who are 11 to 17 years old.
The exam must be completed in a fixed time, making young kids incapable for example of reading 4 lengthy texts within 45 minutes and reply to the questions on time.
The qualification is valid indefinitely and internationally recognised.
Both, A1 and A2/B1 topics are adapted to children and both exams are divided into the following four skill sets, including oral and written tests:
- Reading comprehension
- Written expression and interaction
- Listening comprehension
- Oral expression and interaction
Level structure
DELE A1 Young Learners
The DELE A1 certifies the linguistic competence necessary to understand and use common day-to-day expressions and simple sentences, in order to address immediate needs.
DELE A2/B1 Young Learners
With a single exam, it is possible to qualify for one of these two levels of reference: the DELE level A2 or DELE level B1, depending on the final results.
The DELE A2 certifies that the candidate can: Understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance.
The DELE B1 certifies that the candidate can: Deal with most situations likely to arise while travelling in an area where the language is spoken. Describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans, etc.
The qualification is valid indefinitely and internationally recognised.
